The Dreame L40 Ultra hits a sweet spot in Dreame’s lineup: 11,000 Pa suction, a full self-cleaning dock with 149°F hot-water mop washing, an extendable side brush, and a pet care mode — at a tier below the flagship X series. It ranked #25 in Robotic Vacuums on Amazon at research time, making it one of Dreame’s best-selling models. For buyers who want a genuinely self-sufficient robot vacuum and mop without paying for threshold-climbing gimmicks, the L40 Ultra is the rational pick.
Key features
11,000 Pa Vormax suction handles pet hair and deep debris. The dock washes mops with 149°F hot water and dries them with hot air, while the extendable side brush and RoboSwing mop reach edges. A 194-minute runtime covers large homes, and pet care mode adjusts behavior around animals.
Who it’s for
Pet owners who need serious hair pickup and mopping that actually sanitizes, and large-home owners who want a full self-cleaning dock without paying flagship prices. If your floors mix hard surfaces and rugs, the auto mop-lifting keeps carpets dry.
What to watch out for
Suction sits below Dreame’s top-tier models, and there’s no threshold-climbing system like the X50 — high door ledges can stop it. The dock is large, so measure your space, and the water tanks still need periodic refilling and emptying.
Pros and cons

- Full self-cleaning dock

Frequently asked questions
Is the L40 Ultra good for pet hair?
Yes — the pet care mode and 11,000 Pa suction handle pet hair well on hard floors and low-pile rugs, based on specs and early reviews.
Does the mop wash with hot water?
Yes — the dock washes mops with 149°F hot water, which cleans better than cold-water systems.
Can it climb thresholds?
It handles standard low thresholds but has no ProLeap climbing system — very high ledges (over ~0.8″) may stop it.
