Hedy Review 2026: The AI Meeting Coach That Helps During the Call, Not Just After It
Hedy is a bot-free AI meeting assistant whose main job happens during the meeting: it listens from your own device and quietly coaches you in real time with suggested talking points, answers and nudges, then leaves you a transcript, summary and action items afterwards. The free plan covers 5 hours a month; Pro is $99.99 a year for unlimited sessions — and the number to read first is the coaching window: live AI suggestions run for the first 120 minutes of a session, even on paid plans.
What it is
Hedy (hedy.ai) is an app for Mac, Windows, iPhone, Android, Apple Watch and the web. It never sends a bot into your meeting: the desktop apps capture both sides of a Zoom, Teams or Google Meet call from your own machine, and for in-person meetings you put a phone or watch on the table and it captures the room. The vendor’s pricing page claims 30,000+ active users and a 4.8-star average across 1,000+ reviews — its own figures, stated here as such.
Every other tool in this section is built around the record. Hedy is built around the person in the conversation: while you talk, it surfaces context-aware suggestions — a clearer phrasing, a missed question, a topic to circle back to — and you can ask it questions mid-meeting, including translating what was just said. The familiar notetaker output arrives afterwards, but it is the supporting act.
Key features
- Real-time coaching, not just notes. Live suggestions, talking points and nudges during the conversation, shaped by the session type and your custom vocabulary, in 30+ languages — including meetings where the coaching language differs from the meeting language.
- Bot-free capture everywhere. Desktop capture for virtual calls on any platform, phone and Apple Watch capture for in-person meetings, multi-device sessions, Siri shortcuts for hands-free control, and imports of past recordings, transcripts and YouTube videos on Pro.
- Local AI Processing. Speech recognition runs on your device by default. On capable hardware, Local AI Processing also generates summaries, notes and live suggestions locally, and with Cloud Sync off a conversation exists only on the device that captured it unless you share it.
- Transcripts, Topics and follow-through. Full transcripts you can edit, AI summaries and meeting notes, automatic to-do extraction, one-tap Highlights, recap emails after each session, and the ability to chat across past sessions and merge related ones.
- Integrations and export. Zapier, Make, n8n, Activepieces, webhooks, a public API and an MCP server that lets assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude query your past meetings (MCP and API access are paid-tier features). Exports run to Markdown, CSV and JSON.
Pricing
Pricing is from Hedy’s own pricing page. The Free plan is $0: up to 5 hours of sessions per month (resetting on the first of the month, with no carryover), conversations in 30+ languages, summaries and meeting notes, but real-time AI insights only for the first 30 minutes of each session, and just 1 Topic for organising them. Pro is $99.99 per year (about $8.33 a month), or $12.99 billed monthly: unlimited meeting length and sessions, live suggestions for the first 120 minutes per session, unlimited Topics and session types, imports of recordings and videos, MCP, API and third-party integrations, and a choice of US or EU data residency. A Lifetime option is $299 one time with the same features as Pro, including future updates. Team is $99.99 per seat per year for teams of 2 to 200 — everything in Pro per seat, shared Team Topics, and an admin dashboard under which, the vendor stresses, admins never see private sessions. Enterprise is custom-priced on an annual contract with a 200-seat minimum, adding enforced Local AI Processing, your own AI models or private cloud, SSO/SAML and SCIM, audit logs, org-wide retention policies and a HIPAA BAA.
Who it’s for
- People who perform in meetings — sales reps, consultants, founders pitching, leaders running hard discussions — who would trade a perfect archive for help saying the right thing while it still matters.
- Privacy-sensitive professionals — no visible bot joining client calls, on-device speech recognition by default, and a local-processing mode that can keep a session off the cloud entirely.
- In-person heavy workers — phone and Apple Watch capture for room meetings, site visits and interviews, where bot-based rivals simply cannot go.
What to watch out for
- The coaching clock stops at 120 minutes. Sessions are unlimited on Pro and Team, but live AI suggestions cover only the first 120 minutes of each one (30 minutes on Free). A three-hour workshop gets a coached first two hours and a merely transcribed third.
- No bot means no unattended capture. Hedy records only meetings you attend with the app running on your device. It will not join a call you skip and send you the notes, the way bot-based rivals will.
- The free plan is a taster with a timer. Five hours a month sounds workable, but real-time help — the product’s whole point — stops 30 minutes into each free session.
- Compliance is tiered and modestly certified. The vendor cites GDPR with a DPA, a policy of never training models on your data, and an independent SOC 2 Type I examination — Type I, not the Type II most rivals in this section advertise — while the HIPAA BAA waits for Enterprise and its 200-seat minimum.
- Research-based review. This review is based on Hedy’s own product and pricing pages; we have not run it across a live meeting schedule ourselves.

- Live suggestions cap at the first 120 minutes of a session on paid plans, 30 minutes free.
- Cannot capture a meeting you do not attend — no bot to send in your place.

Frequently asked questions
Is Hedy free?
Yes, as a limited plan: $0 for up to 5 hours of sessions per month in 30+ languages, with summaries and meeting notes, but real-time AI insights only for the first 30 minutes of each session and a single Topic. Pro removes the session limits for $99.99 per year or $12.99 per month.
Does Hedy send a bot into my meetings?
No. Hedy captures audio from your own device — the Mac or Windows app for virtual calls on Zoom, Teams, Google Meet and other platforms, or an iPhone, Android phone or Apple Watch for in-person meetings. Nothing joins the call as a participant, and speech recognition runs on your device by default.
What happens after 120 minutes in a long meeting?
On Pro and Team, live AI suggestions run for the first 120 minutes of a session; capture and transcription continue, but the coaching stops. On the free plan the same window is 30 minutes. For regularly long workshops or all-day sessions, plan around that cap or split the session.
