Rank Math SEO Review 2026: Content AI and AI Visibility in One Suite

Rank Math SEO is a full-featured WordPress SEO suite that has pushed hardest of all the major SEO plugins into AI territory. Its headline extras are Content AI (a set of 40+ AI writing and SEO-assistance tools), AI Visibility tracking that reports when your brand is mentioned by AI answer engines like ChatGPT and Gemini, and AI Link Genius for automated internal-link suggestions. It is one of the strongest free SEO plugins available, but the AI layer is where it asks you to open your wallet.

Bottom line: A genuinely capable free SEO plugin with real AI additions — Content AI, AI Link Genius, and AI Visibility tracking for ChatGPT/Gemini mentions. Worth installing for the free core alone; buy Content AI credits only if you will use the AI writing tools regularly.

Key features

Full SEO core, free. Rank Math’s free plugin covers on-page analysis with a 100-point scoring system, XML sitemaps, schema markup (including FAQ, HowTo, Product, and more), 404 monitoring, redirections, breadcrumb control, and Search Console integration. This is the feature list that made it a credible challenger to Yoast.

Content AI. This is the paid add-on: a dashboard of more than 40 AI tools covering blog post outlines, introductions, titles, meta descriptions, FAQ sections, paraphrasing, and more. The vendor positions it as an SEO co-pilot that keeps output aligned with keyword targets.

AI Visibility. A newer addition that tracks whether AI answer engines such as ChatGPT and Gemini mention your site or brand. As search shifts toward AI-generated answers, this is the kind of metric site owners will increasingly want — Rank Math was early to productize it.

AI Link Genius. Automated internal-link suggestions that scan your content and propose relevant internal links, which is one of the highest-leverage SEO tasks for larger sites.

Importers and setup. Rank Math ships with a setup wizard and one-click importers from Yoast, All in One SEO, and other SEO plugins, which lowers the switching cost considerably.

Who it’s for

Bloggers, affiliate site owners, and small businesses running WordPress who want a powerful free SEO foundation plus optional AI writing and AI-visibility tracking without buying a separate tool. It suits people comfortable with a settings-rich plugin — Rank Math exposes a lot of controls, which power users love and beginners may find busy.

What to watch out for

The free core is excellent, but the AI features are where costs accumulate. Content AI runs on a credit-based system tied to its own plans, so the “40+ AI tools” pitch needs to be weighed against how much AI-assisted writing you actually do. Credits spent on content that underperforms are wasted money, so it pays to trial the free Content AI starter allocation first. The AI Visibility feature is novel, but it is worth asking whether your traffic actually depends on AI-answer-engine mentions yet — for many smaller sites, classic search metrics still matter more. And as with every feature-dense SEO plugin, be careful during setup: Rank Math offers many modules, and enabling things you do not understand (advanced schema, redirections) can cause more confusion than benefit.

Pricing

Free core plugin with generous features. Content AI plans start from EUR 5.99/month billed annually for the Starter plan, per the vendor’s pricing page. A free Content AI starter allocation is included with a free account, so you can test the AI tools before paying.
